Team Kadima is Here!

What is Team Kadima? Sometime ago the instructors of the Integrated Combat System University decided to develop the most advanced and comprehensive women’s self defense program that had ever been created to date. Their efforts paid off and resulted in the creation of the ICSU’s Women’s Defensive Tactics Course. The goal of the course is not just to teach women self defense but to train women to be elite self defense and personal protection instructors. The next step was to test the effectiveness of the course by selecting a group of women of different ages with no prior martial arts experience and put them through the course. Through the training process these women formed a tight bond that transformed the group into an elite team. They named their team “TEAM KADIMA.”

“Kadima” is a Hebrew word meaning “forward” or “to go.” It is used as a battle cry much like “Charge” and implies moving forward taking the initiative when faced with difficulty or danger. After hours of training, the sore muscles, the bruises, the injuries, the sweat and the tears, the girls of the Women’s Defensive Tactics Course felt this was a suitable name for their team as it captures the spirit one must develop to make it through the course and emerge victoriously when attacked by a violent assailant.

The Women’s Defensive Tactics Course (WDTC) is a one-year program designed to train women in all aspects of self defense and personal protection. The basic course outline is taken from the ICSU Executive Security Course for professional bodyguards and was then modified to fit the specific needs of women. The course combines the most effective techniques and tactics from four major martial arts, Israeli Krav Maga, Filipino Eskrima, American Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In addition to learning hand-to-hand combatives, the course also includes training in tactical shooting, defensive driving, risk & threat assessment, counter-surveillance, location security, escorting tactics, and much more. The overall goal of the course is to arm women with the same kind of knowledge, awareness, and information that the professional bodyguard has and teach women how to apply it when protecting their children, home and themselves. This course is a one of a kind program. There simply is no other course like it being taught anywhere in the world when it comes to women’s self defense.
